Series II Book 3: “Moose Knows Best” Discussion

As I write this story, I think that we are not so different from our animal friends. Their running, jumping, climbing, and other playtime activities serve to hone the instincts for survival that are within each of us. With that being said, what makes them so different from each of us? The answer is, not much. In the story, we allow our friends to make the fantasy leap to the realization that their activities have a purpose. Moose shows them that this is not merely a competition for which is the best, but a recognition that each has a purpose and skills that are valuable. These playtime activities help to define their character.

Our readers should understand that everyone excels at something, and our differences are our strengths. We gain strength from teamwork as everyone works to use their own skills in support of the team’s goals. Questions and activities for our readers should include skills, teamwork, value, abilities, and personal contributions. Choose games that promote fairness, inclusion, teamwork, critical thinking, and pride in accomplishment.
